The Australian Judicial Officers Association (AJOA) notes that judgement in the matter of Stradford (a pseudonym) v Judge Vasta [2023] FCA 1020 was published today by the Federal Court of Australia.

The AJOA does not wish to make any comment about the merit of the judgment but acknowledges that it may have potentially profound implications for certain members of the Association.

The AJOA is carefully considering any implications for its members and, in that respect, reviewing which Australian Courts, if any, may not afford immunity to judicial officers.
