Eligibility
Membership of the Association is open to eligible judicial officers throughout Australia. To qualify for membership, rule 4 of the Rules states the following:
A person is qualified to be a member if that person is or has been
(a) a member of a court of the Commonwealth of Australia or of a State or internal Territory of Australia, or of a Tribunal which, in the opinion of the Governing Council, exercises judicial power within Australia, or
(b) a person appointed on terms which, in the opinion of the Governing Council, are similar to those upon which judges are usually appointed in Australia and whose duties are, in the opinion of the Governing Council, substantially judicial in nature.

Membership Fees
The Association is funded almost entirely by membership subscriptions.
New members: The membership fee for the first year of membership for new members is $60.00 (incl. GST). This will increase to $70 (incl. GST) on 1 July 2023.
Existing members: The membership fee for the financial year 2022-23 for existing members is listed below:

Member Benefits Scheme
The AJOA Governing Council has decided not to renew the member benefits scheme when it expires on 30 June 2022. Current AJOA members may continue to use the scheme until that date here: https://ajoa.rewards-plus.com.au/.
If you have used the scheme to purchase electronic gift cards, please ensure that you print or download these cards prior to 30 June 2022 as you will not be able to recover the value of these cards after the agreement with Member Benefits Australia expires.
